I'm glad they closed.. the food was terrible and the service was even worse!!!!!!!!!!

They are definitely closed, but I don't know why. I never went to the one in Dublin.

Why does the C of C equate commercial viability with a Food Court?

Gift Shop – Gone.

Hardware Store - Gone.

Antique Shop – Gone.

What happened to the mantra of “Diversity”?

How about a Downtown with Shoe Stores, Pharmacies, Sporting Goods (Not “Active Apparel”), Hobby Shops, and a Movie Theater. Maybe a real Bakery that makes real Doughnuts, Pies & Breads sans the “Artisan” affectation?

FYI -- contrary to what is often reported, Scott was asked to leave PacBell/SBC as he was doing more strip work on company time than he was engineering the network.

I had no idea that Dilbert's creator was bank rolling Stacey's at Waterford. He must have run out of time, patients or money because at the end of the article he said he would just keep trying new things until something worked. Great article but I guess it's a few years old so things change. Went there about a month ago for drinks with the wife. Crowd was, lets just say 30 something, past their prime and willing. I was actually looking forward to taking my divorced buddies from out of town their for a sure thing. Not as a favor but more for the jokes later about how I can't believe they slept with that.

Stacey's Cafe on Main is doing fine. I went there for dinner the other night. Stacey is there all the time and really looks after her guests. She wasn't active in the Dublin place for some time from what I hear.

I just had a late lunch for my birthday with my daughter at Stacey's downtown. We hadn't eaten there before. We had sandwiches [BLT Avocado and hamburger]. The menus were very witty; the service superb; the food very, very good. The french fries were the absolute best we have ever had, anywhere. The ambiance was quiet. I highly recommend it. It's a little more pricey than we usually do for lunch, but it was my birthday, after all. It was really fabulous, and it will probably be our go-to place when we feel a little special from now on.

I heard today that the head chef from Stacy's is the head chef of a new restaurant in San Ramon. HURRAY!!! I bet most of you don't know the good work he has done with "at risk" children in the Bay area....Encouraging them to stay in school.....teaching them how to make easy, inexpensive but fancy meals....and the importance of math. He rocks!
