I agree with the banks. It is not their fault that the folks in Sacramento can't do their job. If they accept IOUs, there is little incentive for Sacramento to get the job done. Those affected by this need to put great pressure on Sacramento (legislature and Arnold) as well as on the unions. Yes, the unions are a huge reason why California is in such a mess - Vallejo had to declare bankruptcy. Also, it is about time to stop unnecessary spending. We do not need a county and a state of education for example, and the countless boards and commissions must be consolidated.

Maybe when the union members stop getting paid because the state government is broke and the PRIVATE industry (banks) refuse to honor their IOUs, they will be more reasonable and agree to undo those very high pensions, benefits, etc

Perhaps you misunderstood the point of this post Resident... This wasn't a spot to bring your anti-union sentiments, there are plenty of posts already about that- Please take it there.

It was in regards to banks refusing to cash or honor the folks being paid with these IOUs. This includes the private business owner who supplies food to the prison system in the state amoung many others.

I will no longer be doing business with the banks who are making what is already a difficult time even harder for the individuals struggling to get by
