Why is Claudette McDermott's Thread Restricted???
Around Town, posted by What's Up Gina?, a resident of the Another Pleasanton neighborhood neighborhood, on Jul 3, 2009 at 8:26 am

What is Claudette McDermott afraid of that she would post a self-promoting thread about street artists and then restrict any comments to registered users? Didn't we go through this nonsense when Jeb tried to shut down the negative comments on Measure G? Claudette claims to be a "columnist" for the Weekly ("Reflections by Claudette McDermott") yet she wishes only to post, not be criticized by anyone who does not wish Jeb to out them by revealing their name. Remember what he did to previous registered posters?

Gina, this is nonsense. Having an open forum will allow for some unwanted comments. However, when you sponsor a person with their own column and then allow them to arbitrarily restrict comments you defeat your purpose.

You have effectively created a free advertising post for Claudette. How do you think your paid advertisers feel about that? If I were one of them I would cancel my ads with the Weekly immediately.

CHECK UNDER THE ART OF LINDA JEFFERY SAILORS AND THE FIRST POST IS BY miss claudie!

I think that artists need the added boost that comes from free advertising. Most of the artists that are benefiting are not making much money and that's why they generally have day jobs, the have partners that support them, or they are retired and also paint.

Most Plutonians are Philistines that know little and care less about the efforts and the lives of people that make art/artists.

I think that it's justified that they can advertise their art for FREE!

When the health care becomes universal in the US, I plan to tell all the illegals that I know how to work the system. miss claudie and her pals are simply working the system and that is not a crime against the state. hahahahahahahahhhaa....mes petites!

As for the fairness in all this, nobody said that the everybody is treated equally. Some are more equal than others...tee hee hee, tee hee hee...
