Ok Liberals...You Won The Election, But I'd Just Like To Know... State, National, International, posted by Sarah, a resident of the Downtown neighborhood, on Jun 12, 2009 at 6:02 pm
Ok you Obamaphiles who love your "Hope" and "Change"... I'd just like to know from you ...
When is our Government LARGE ENOUGH for you? When does it become TOO BIG...TOO OVERBEARNING, TOO ALL-CONTROLLING? When will you say ENOUGH GOVERNMENT???
When are we taxed TOO MUCH? How much should we pay in taxes (Remember McNerney believes the top rate should be 90%! Agree?)

And government is no larger, either. Thanks to GWB for delightfully large increase in federal bureaucracy with the creation of the Department of Homeland Security.

Wrong again fellas, check you facts. Government is already bigger didn't you hear the news that Obama authorized the hiring of 2,000 more IRS agents? Ask your employers (if you are working) about the tax hikes which are coming for them and if you think it won't be passed to you well guess again. Gas tax heck they are even passing legislation to tax your employer provided blackberry or phone at a 25% tax rate.

Sarah, my guess is that you are lying. When you write, "I'd just like to know from you", you don't really mean it. You just want to rant and call people names and incite argument rather than invite debate.
True, -phile means: "one that loves, likes, or is attracted to" and I imagine that if you vote for someone that means they like them. Still, your "Obamaphile" terms sounds a little derogatory even if accurate. Plus, I imagine that there are a few people who voted for Obama who don't qualify as "Obamaphiles" - i.e. they were simply voting for what they perceived as the "lesser of two evils".
The next term, Liberals. Has a political meaning but at this site it's bandied around more as an insult.

I would like to think that we are a "Community Of Character" and we have the same basic decent nature, and the ability to communicate effectively, without insults and contempt.
If we are so "educated" as a community, then why are these insults and why are we displaying such anger and hostile resentment towards one another?

Power corrupt absolutely, AND absolute power corrupts. Name ONE nation, counrty, state, city, school district, or other, that is not greedy and corrupt!
Our Goverment is SO complex, and the problems we face are so complex, that no group, or sect, or "side" could get is just and correct.

The “Obama-Is-A-Boogie-Man” concept gets boring. Obama is one man in the context of a huge American political system. The Obama-haters have made him a star. Here’s a thought: What made Southern prejudice obscene to the point that the American mindset could not tolerate it any longer? That’s right, the indiscriminate hate, fear and derision! My point is simple, if the Haters continue to Hate, then they are fueling the system (person) they hate. Believe me I know what I’m talking about I just got my Ph.d. in Chemistry.
