Whoever witnessed and reported this is a local hero!

Just wait until the new west side BART station opens - watch for a crazy crime spike at Stoneridge mall and surrounding neighborhoods.

My hat's off to the CHP that located this scum bag!

Crime DogMan has a good point in regards to the new West Side Bart Station. :-(

It seems like crime at Stoneridge Mall continues to escalate. Crime was quite rare in the first 15 years at Stoneridge, but its much different today. I certainly don't look forward to the new BART station opening - Pleasanton allowing that was a big mistake. The city needs to crack down on this now before it really gets out of hand.

As the authorities repeat over and over, don't leave personal items in the car where they can be seen, I am more and more aware of this each time I park my car anywhere.

Strange that you connect the smash and grab with the new BARTD station, esp. since it is not even done yet.

It is great that someone saw, and acted to call the police; and that the CHP was able to catch them! Great Police Work combined with people looking out for each other!

Often they are repeat offenders. Probably prevented the slimeball from doing it again. "On Vasco" doesn't sound like they were from Oakland, or anywhere the BARTD serves.

It does emphasize how important it is to lock your car, don't leave valuables, and to watch and make that call.

Another thing is if your cell phone has a camera, or you have camera, a picture is great evidence! What was the description of the bad guy?

Misplaced integrity?

BARTD is near to completion of a second Pleasanton Station even though they have yet to even start a first Livermore Station, which was promised from the beginning.
