I also heard that SFPD officers - working in Oakland the day of the fallen OPD officer's funeral - to allow all OPD officers to attend the funeral - donated all their overtime funds back to the Oakland PD officer association.

Class act SFPD....class act.

Thank you to all that serve us.

Is the public allowed to attend the BBQ? If so what are the times?

It's a fundraiser so I'm sure the public is more than welcome for the run and/or the (Outback!!!) barbeque.

From the web site listed in the article:

The family BBQ begins at 11 a.m. Adult meal includes

Chicken or tri-tip; Kids meal includes a hamburger or hotdog.

Both meals include salad, side dish & a drink. Food

tickets are $10 for adults & $7 for kids (12 and under).

Entrants receive a free food ticket.

Why did this get out so late? We could have gone if there was enough time to plan for it. Why report about somthing to try and raise support and not give enough time to do so???? I have lost P.D. freinds and would have loved to have gone. I will still donate to support them and all that they do for all of us.

Thank You!

FYI - There is also an event in Oakland on Saturday at the Warehouse to benefit the families of the OPD officers. Tickets are $20. There will be a silent auction (in which many Pleasanton businesses donated items) as well as a live auction.

Here is a link Web Link

Looks like it will be a nice day on Saturday....come on out!!!
