Sunday School Teacher a Suspect
Crimes & Incidents, posted by Khara, a resident of the Country Fair neighborhood, on Apr 12, 2009 at 5:45 pm

Some people interviewed regarding the death of Sandra Cantu were surprised that the person suspected of killing her worked at a church and that the suspect's grandfather was a preacher. I'd like to hear from anyone who believes that because a person goes to church or works at a church it means they are a good person. Why would you think that? That's a naive assumption that has no grounding in reality.

In my opinion, people should not assume that those who either go to church or work for a church are good people.

Remember the catholic church scandal? These were priests accused of the abuse of minors. So a person going to church or working for a church is not a guarantee that the person is good.

However, the situation with this woman is a little different. She was not only a sunday school teacher, but a mother herself, lived in the community. It just goes to show that we cannot be too trusting, even with our neighbors.

There is obviously a man involved in this. Most likely her grandfather.

@Gina: Human beings are capable of horrifying attrocities. If you think only men are capable of such acts, you know absolutely nothing of human nature or history.

Gina, I was also surprised to hear that it was a woman, but then I quickly remembered that some mother's kill their own children.

If you go to the Megan's Law website you will see that there are some female sex offenders registered there as well. It looks as if she did it herself.
