SANTA RITA BREAK OUT!
Around Town, posted by Melissa, a resident of the Pleasanton Meadows neighborhood, on Apr 8, 2009 at 10:59 pm

So on April 1,2009 I was at home with my son and parents. I got a phone call from my brother-in-law who is a security guard asking me whats going on in Pleasanton around Stoneridge and Wes Las Positas. I told him I had no idea! So finally we got a call saying that the police wanted him to go into the hospital to get safe. 30 min later we got a call saying that someone escaped Santa Rita Jail. He was captured after 10 min of looking for him. My question is, why wasn't this in the news? shouldn't the town of Pleasanton know whats going on where they live?

Melissa,

My question is, have you called the police, 925-931-5100, to verify any of this?

Melissa,

So let me get this straight: you were called at home by a security guard, who asked you what was going on. Later, the police called you to tell you to tell the security guard to go to the hospital to be safe. Then someone called half an hour later to say someone had escaped from Santa Rita. Are you sure this wasn't some weird practical joke? 'Cause it doesn't seem to make any sense.

it appears to be an april fools joke!

Because Pleasanton is a very image-conscious town and they try not to report things that might tarnish its reputation.

For example, when there was a drug raid at a house nearby Amador Campus where teenagers used to hoard up and hang out, there was never any mention about that.
