Scrabble Club Searches for Catchy Slogan
Schools & Kids, posted by fopdoodle, a resident of the Birdland neighborhood, on Mar 30, 2009 at 9:50 am

Hello, this is my first time posting here since registering.

As the president of my school's newly made Scrabble Club, I need a slogan to inspire the hearts of millions to come in at lunch and form anagrams competitively every week. This was more difficult than it seemed and I'm finding myself up against a deadline-wall. What do you think would be a nice hook to get students to join my club?

All suggestions will be used for the Scrabble Club's promotional flyers at Amador Valley High School, regardless of quality or seriousness. Please avoid profanity however

" Bart: Here we go. Kwyjibo. [places his tiles] K-W-Y-J-I-B-O.

Twenty-two points, plus triple-word-score, plus fifty points

for using all my letters. Game's over. I'm outta here. [gets up]

For slogans on T-shirts or banners or both?

"OY?"

"UR, UH, UM..."

"GO TO EL"

"Is 'YO' A Word?"

"YU DA ..."

"Z on TLS

over AN

= 64pp"

"JQXZ'S" (those are the power tiles, plus blanks)

"OXIME is Not Just For Science Nerds"

"The Best Tile Is A _____" (blank)

"Bodacious Tilebaggers"

"Triple Guards"

"Triple Watchers"

"Tile Trackers"

"Tile Talkers"

"Talking In The Tile"

"TWS" (triple word score, The Word Scrabblers, The Weird Students, Tenacious Word Searchers, Twelve{pm} Word Scrabble...)

"Every Word Counts"

"Scrabblers keep a balanced rack" ... had to put that one in LOL

"retain RETAINS"

~~~~~~~~~~~
How is that for starters?
Are you all playing a game or helping the teacher out? I have played the game only once and somehow won.. so here are some of my jingles.
Tiles B Gone
Up in Pieces
In Search of Letter ?
(all of the above should be done in the scrabble tiles)
Also, I would look into doing themes...like all in different languages...I understand the game may not be set up for that, but it would bring in the other students that will need to buff up on their words...this will help them get aquainted with the language...It will beat holding up index cards...When my daughter took mandarin, it was a bear to quiz her...i didn't know the words...you could do it with your scrabble club...good luck...
mother of a teacher...
Got Board?
or
Board Silly
I really can't come up with anything but those (sad, isn't it?) ;-)
I do wish you all well in the new club. Congrats for starting it up
