California Highway Patrol has issued a SIG alert for northbound I-680 near Stoneridge Drive after a Dublin man reportedly hit a tree and was rushed to the hospital with major injuries. The right lane is expected to be closed until about 5:30 p.m. and traffic is already backed up for at least a mile on both sides of the freeway.

Since this seems to happen quite often, I make the following motion: We chop down all trees, and power poles, alongside all major traffic arteries in, and around, Pleasanton...
Reasoning for my motion: They seem to be nothing but trouble (Comments partially removed by Pleasanton Weekly Online staff as innuendo, hearsay or specific accusatory information unsupported by facts.)

The stretch of 680 coming down the hill to Bernal all the way to the 580 interchange seems to be pretty troublesome with a good number of accidents. The traffic seem to go from the limit to stop and back to the limit, and I have seen this catch a few people out.
The CHP is always in the area being visibile to slow down the traffic. Which is a good thing.
