I keep waiting to see if this comes up in the local news but nada.
On the morning of March 6th aprox. 25 cars had one or more of their tires slashed. Most of these cars were parked on Snowdrop and Dennis Drive (around Mohr school). We believe that this occurred between 11:00 pm and 3:00 am. If you saw anything out of the ordinary please contact the Pleasanton Police Department.

My point exactly, Maria. One can assume that the Pleasanton Police Department was called out to investigate this incident, the slashing of not *one* set of tires, but approximately 25. Seems like a pretty big deal to me, that large amount of property damage perpetrated against so many households.
WHERE'S THE NEWS? Does the Pleasanton Police Dept. not communicate incidents and adverse events to the Pleasanton Weekly? Or does the Pleasanton Weekly choose not to print information which could be helpful in keeping citizens alert against burglary or vandalism, or that might help in solving a case such as this?

trekmtb, yes, you're right that the paper version of the Pleasanton Weekly is indeed a "weekly" as the name indicates. However, the online version of this "newspaper" is updated daily, several times, by the editor or the reporters. At this current time, there are four different news stories which were posted (and possibly revised a time or two) today, Monday March 9th. The question is what is considered newsworthy and what is not. The local temp and forecast is apparently newsworthy, while multiple citizens having their property damaged and incapacitated is not?

This point is raised over and over again, about the news being reported on PW Town Forum, days even a week later. Trekmtb, We understand the paper version is weekly. I asked this question last week on another story what is the editor doing? Sleeping? Just as 'Where's the news' said The forum is updated daily,seems the weather 'news' is more important
So far nobody from the weekly has come onto explain why it takes them so long to report on a story. Would be interesting to hear.

The story is online now. We don't typically work on weekends, so I called the police this morning and heard back from them in the afternoon. Thanks for letting us know about it.

The Weekly makes no claims to publish ALL the daily news on-line. They are a weekly newspaper that during the week you can see top stories, hot pics, news alerts and current events.

Yes it's important for the community to know about events such as these, but seriously people should get over (not get over the tire slashing but the PW not posting the story asap). This is way off topic from the original post, but I enjoy coming on here more than wathing the news or reading a newspaper. Everything is so negative out there today and the Weekly has some upbeat, light hearted stories. Gets tiring to read about who got laid off, what business is closing etc. Take a mental vacation from the negativity.
