Be sure and tell them to slow down and just pass the ball when they get up by 2! Then, take out the varsity and put in the reserves!!

They don't want to embarrass the other team!

I don't think that will be a problem for two reasons tonight.

1) Monte Vista has a by far better coach than Amador.

2) I doubt the MV girls will quit the way Amador did if they get behind by a few goals.

Maybe the AV girls are tired of playing for their coach and that's a big factor. You tell me since you appear to be a know all.

Foothill, maybe the #1 team, but you
need to show some class in the EBAL.
Beating a team 9-0 shows only one thing: TRASH!
These girls need to me able to show
respect to other in order to survive the
real world.

Hey Foothill coach,

A little advice when you're up by 5:

1. Take out your starters
2. No shots on goal unless you use your head.
3. Swap forward and defenders.

9-0 was a little excessive.
The coach needs to take some responsiblity here.

They were playing Amador, the girls all know each other, they weren't playing a bunch of strangers. You don't let up against your cross town rival. Is it possible that the reserves did play and maybe they scored half the goals? It's not really fair to give them their rare chance to play but then tell them to go easy and not score.

I'm sure half the Amador girls have been on a club team that has won 9-0 before. They aren't babies. There are lots of ways to contain the scoring but sometimes there is nothing you can do. If you have a wide open shot in front of the goal, it is even more insulting to the other team if you don't take it. In some games where one team just isn't on their game that day and making lots of mistakes, there's not much you can do.

I wasn't there, I don't know the details, but no matter what, it's not a big deal. They are the #1 team in the country, what did you expect, a close game?

So, it is okay for Granada to beat teams 16-0 and 13-0 but when a legit team (like Foothill) comes in and plays to their potential you want to trash them and the coach - HA! They beat Bishop O'Dowd 8-0 in the Tri Valley classic, I didn't hear the whiners then. These girls have earned their number 1 ranking and deserve the recognition - give the whiners some tissue.

Foothill,
Congrats on a great season.
I have see everyone play and I
do believe this team is one of
the greatest teams to come out
of the EBAL.
Please take some responsibility
when you play. Although your
coaches may not have the class
to not slaugher teams, I do
believe you girls can respect
other teams.

Keep up the effort!!!

Sounds like some people are having a hard time swallowing this bitter pill. Say what you want, the team and the coaches have class. They are just good, bottom line. The haters need to stop hatin!

Maybe someone will suggest a parcel tax to fund the Amador team. It'll only be fifty cents a day!

Dons Throw Their Hats in the Ring, Pepper Newark Memorial 7-0

This is from the Amador web site. I guess if Amador peppers someone else it is OK. If it is Foothill peppering Amador it is unsportsmanlike conduct! Give me a break. I have kids that have played for both schools and both soccer coaches, and the bottom line is that Foothill just wanted it more. Foothill coach emptied his bench and made sure all girls played. When we were Amador parents, I remember games that Amador never put in a sub the entire game, the coach was just after the win. This is High school not pre-school. The kids that play at this level are serious competitors. Foothill could have passed the ball around the whole second half and made Amador chase them for the ball to keep the score down, but how humiliating would that have been. Either way the result is the same. You win some, you lose some it is all about being part of the game. When you lose bad, then that is a sign that you need to work harder to achieve your goal, not whine and degrade the team that beat you.

Amador fans and parents need wake up to the facts. The real problem is the Amador coach (principal) Bill Coupe. Many of the rage players go to Foothill to play soccer because Bill Coupe is the Amador coach. Some of the present players on Foothill's starting sqaud have siblings at Amador. One lives 2 blocks from Amador. There are a few good professional rage coaches that are ready and willing to take over the high school program at Amador. The foothill girls program is far ahead of Amador's. Amador girls and parents deserve a good coach that will work with the local club, not against it like Bill Coupe does, to help develope their daughters soccer skills. All these girls have grown up in the Rage club and learned how to play good soccer, ball control, passing , multipal formations and much more. Amador's present coahing staff is not up to this task. Amador's current team as well as past teams have had plenty of talented players. Their teams are very successful outside the EBAL. If they want to keep up in the EBAL,( one of the strongest leagues in the country) they need to hire a new head coach.

Sad but true. Good luck to all the local kids!!!!

What this Foothill senior group and the Pleasanton Rage U18 team has going is really special. Foothill HS ranked #1 in the nation for high schools and their Rage U18 team has played for the national club championship and has a chance to do it again this year. We probably won't see a group of this many talented Pleasanton kids for a long time if ever. AKA the "dream team" and yes they are alot of fun to watch.

It's a cross-town rival who beat us last year and messed up our season, of course we wanted revenge. We've worked so hard and have been second best the past 3 years and now our senior year, we're not letting any team stand in our way of what we want. This is ridiculous that all of these people are stressing over this one game. Don't you have anything better to do than thrive on a loss in HIGH SCHOOL sports? It's in the past and we can't change it, but if we could.. we wouldn't!

Didn't Amador's boys soccer team run off like 70 straight wins in the late 70s early 80s. Was anybody complaining then? Should have they given the rest of the EBAL a chance? Groups of players like this come along once in a great while. Enjoy it. This is definitely not the equivalent to 100-0. Foothill is just very good, top to bottom.
