The heroic landing that was perfomed with such skill and precision is the defining moment in Chesley Sullenbergers life. The fate of the passengers, and the lives of their loved ones, would have been tragic if not for his remarkable pilot.

Thank you "Sully" for your extraordinary landing.

I hope one of Obama's first acts is to present this man with a medal. I'd even think it'd be great if Bush did it as his final act. I don't know the protocol or what he could receive, but a damn fine acknowledgment is in order!

The more I hear about Sully- the more I am impressed by him- and everyone on the flight- It is so great to hear about a story like this in this day of age....!!!!

Not only did Sully land the plane without breaking it apart, he made two trips up the isles and was the last one off to ensure everyone got off even though the plane was filling with water. I am willing to bet that he will be very modest about it and say that he was only doing his job. This man is a true hero.

Yes, The man was tested and passed. I always want to think if I were in that position that I would do the same. Offer my life in the hopes of saving others, when push came to shove. These are the kinds of people who give us hope that at our very core, we care about something besides ourselves.

What amazing individuals! All crew members aboard this flight with "Sully" (the captain) taking the lead need to be acknowledged. It took all of them to make this happen along with the civilians that came to the rescue from the water. To keep all of this under control enought to get everyone off the plane with very minor injuries considering the circumstances is quite an accomplishment. Thank you to all!

Although the captain is to be admired for what he did, the issue of the geese that got sacrificed into jet's engines was bought up by a fellow member of the PETA group I belong to. Something needs to be done saving geese and other birds while these jets are in operation.
