Hotel restaurant relics for sale Wednesday

On Wednesday, Pleasanton residents will be able to purchase a piece of local history as auctioneers will be selling off antique furniture and other restaurant materials at the Pleasanton Hotel.

How sad to witness the closure of the historic Pleasanton Hotel Restaurant. This wonderful restaurant allowed a diverse age group to enjoy a wonderful place to eat, dance and enjoy spirits together, it brought a community together. When will the business world recognize the needs of a community rather than the needs of themselves! Shame on you!

I think Cholo might be right on this one...

Our Downtown is really nothing more than a string of buildings along Main Street. Each of those buildings comes with an owner, aka "Landlord." The landlords of downtown have been taking a bashing of late, and in some cases, deservedly so... But they are the stake-holders, and if we feel we are entitled to bash them for their actions and decisions of the last 24 months, before we get carried away, maybe we should thank them for their commitment and investment over the last 20 or so years...
