A fourth suspect was arrested Tuesday at his Pleasanton job in the Tracy torture case that's made national headlines of a 16-year-old boy, who escaped to a local gym begging for help last week. On Tuesday, Tracy police detectives arrested 29-year-old Anthony Waiters at his workplace in Pleasanton.

The actual local paper with egregious spelling errors is The Independent. They've gone so far as to print the wrong headline over a story in their monthly magazine. I think the Pleasanton Weekly does a generally good job of copy editing. Perhaps some of the instances you think are spelling errors are variations in the spelling of names. For example, one of the defendants in the child abuse story above spells her first name unusually.

Lets keep in mind they are only charged at this point. Remember all of you defended good ol' Henry the molester because he still hasn't had his day in court. Give these people the same respect.
I talked to one of the neighbors to the house on tennis lane in Tracy. They told me that kid was part of the family. He was seen plenty of times washing the car (outside alone), and mowing the front lawn (alone), no chains or ropes...He was the typical teenager that came and went as he pleased.
Now he obviously suffered some abuse recently, anyone can see that. But lets wait till the facts come out. I just wanted to remind everyone that all four of those suspects are innocent until proven guilty. Sound familiar? (just like Henry the molester...)

He was seen plenty of times working washing cars and mowing their lawn. And you mean they didn't use chains for the public to see? Because then they might be caught? Abusers usually do let the public see the chains and other evidence of abuse, so that's strange that the child was seen working outside the house without chains.
That's clear evidence that he wasn't being abused. No chains in public, no abuse.
I doubt it was the fear of death that caused him not to run away, a fear imprinted in his brain since infancy. I doubt it was because if you grow up with abuse, you feel helpless, hopeless and anxiety-ridden. You feel as 'chained' in your mind as if you are literally chained. You just try to do what they say so the abuse doesn't escalate to the point of death. That this kid was able to summon the will to make a run for it is a miracle.
It's interesting that you cite the fact that this kid was used to do work outside the house as evidence he was treated as 'family'.

I'll watch my tone so the Pleasanton Weakly doesn't erase my post...
Brian, you're being silly. (is that nicely enough?) I was trying to wrap up my 1/2 hour conversation with the familys neighbor into a quick post. (neighbors that live right next door) I was just putting out there that I was told by the neighbor that all of this news is "confusing" because he was often seen outside alone and also coming and going from the store, mall..with bags in hand...etc... The neighbors recently have had conversations with the teen about life, plans, etc...and from their point of view, going from a "come as he pleases teen" to a chained to the fire place abuse victim, it is all kinda confusing (the neighbors words, not mine) My point was the level of abuse might have been a sudden turn of events. Maybe all 4 suspects aren't guilty? I wanted people to consider that some of the reports might have been twisted alittle, and understand that in the case of a minor, not all of the information is released.
Now...I never said he wasn't abused. Actually, I admitted he was. But thanks for being a smart a$$ about it. Brian....you should really watch your attitude in these forums because the pleasanton weakly staff will remove your post just for laughs. I wasn't rude, vulgar, upset...nothing controversial. I'm still waiting for an explanation.
