The city of Pleasanton will now accept used and unwanted batteries for recycling in the name of going green. Mayor Jennifer Hosterman and the City Council have committed to leading the city toward more green alternatives and sustainability.

Thank you!!!!!! This will make it soooo convenient to drop off the batteries. My collection has taken over the laundry room counter over the past 2 years as I procrastinated getting info on where I could take them. Excellent idea! Mine will be dropped off by the end of the day tomorrow!

Hi Matt, in response to your question, Joanne Hall, who is the spokeswoman for the city of Pleasanton told me: "we are exploring having an ongoing recycling program for CFL bulbs, but expect that they will be included in our E-Waste Weekend held at the Fairgrounds April 16-18, 2009. We included them last year and many, many CFL bulbs and lights came through."
