Common sense dictates one should never "burst open the door" - one never knows what may be waiting on the other side to "burst" you back through...

Glad they caught these bums...

Good work Homeowner...

Halloween night (home alone)someone came my door, I thought it was too late for trick or treaters (9:45), so I looked out the peep hole, saw a black man. Through the door I asked Who is it? He said a name, he was hard to understand, I asked What do you want? He said more stuff I could not understand. I said I am not opening my door. He said OK and went away. I watched as he left my door and went to my neighbor next door. I wasn't able to talk to my neighbor later to find out what happenend. I didn't call the police, maybe I should have.

You should always call the police when you see solicitors. I'm a police officer in anouther jurisdication but live in Pleasanton. Most solicitors come from different states go from city to city and have criminal records. I had one solicitor who come to my house who I arrested in my City. I told him in no uncertain words to come back and he didn't.

Don't be afraid to call the police.
