Dem. Illinois Sen. wants to limit free speech on the internet State, National, International, posted by keep the internet free, a resident of the Another Pleasanton neighborhood neighborhood, on Feb 21, 2013 at 8:41 am
Interesting article Web Link about Dem. Senator Ira Silverstein proposing a bill to ban anonymous postings on the internet. Given the state of the economy, why would this be considered a priority?

I don't see what's wrong with this proposed bill. If posters won't use their real names to criticize obamas destruction of our economy, how can the govt track them down to 're-educate' them? I guess tracking IP addresses is too hard for these same fools can't safeguard against the Chinese military hacking US websites.

If the govt wants to track you down they can, though I doubt it would waste its time on a small vocal minority that is rapidly dying off. Now, if you've got mental problems, show violent tendencies, complain about minority groups all the time, and announce you're running a day care center in the community, that might raise an eyebrow or two. Relax, 'no free speech,' nobody thinks you're worth the attention unless, well, you know.
