See Brozosky's Mega Mansion On A Ridgeline

Original post made by frank, Pleasanton Heights, on Nov 1, 2008

This election is about Brozosky vs Hostermann, PP vs QQ, and mega mansions on ridgelines in the southeast hills. Well, after a bit of back and forth with Fletch in another recent thread, someone posted definitive pictures of Brozosky's mega mansion on a prominent hill in our southeast Pleasanton area.

Web Link

If you don't believe these pics, compare what you see to my Google Earth link of the same property.

Web Link

One and the same (no Adobe Photoshop).

Brozosky is truly hypocritical to oppose Oak Grove and to support PP and to talk against approving large houses such as the Sarich's when he lives in a gargantuan house on the same ridgelines at issue.

How big do you think it is? I estimated at least 8000 sq. ft. using Google Earth tools. Perhaps bigger. And it is two stories, for sure.

Cindy McGovern should be SHOCKED at how close the trees are and what a fire hazard they are! (Her main reason for voting against Oak Grove.)

(P. S. Sorry, Fletch, either you are a liar or have a really bad memory.)

McGovern lives at the end of Longview. As for trees they are all around her house, on the ridge----such that a fire engine may have trouble getting up and in her drive way due to tree overhead obstruction. She and Steve are Kay's pawns--Kay was going to run for Mayor but it blew up on her with the initiative going to court, I believe. Shame on all of them----they are all hypocrits and fibbers. But always those kinds of folks get caught up in their own web and misdeeds and they too shall fall-patience.

I hope more people see this. Talk to your neighbors. Vote for Jennifer and do not re-elect McGovern.

I had NO idea this was the case, so thank you very much for this information. I guess us folks here in the lowlands don't get up in the hills that often, or when we do, we don't know who lives up there in those big houses. Very interesting.

I am very surprised that anyone in Pleasanton did not know this. Mr Brozosky and Mrs. McGovern have lived in the Pls. hills for years. I guess most residents have not done their homework. They both supported Measure V(5 acres of senior housing on the Bernal property) and now they are advocating affordable housing(what a joke)as long as it is not any where near their Ivory Towers. Their support of Measure PP is just another ploy to get Mr. Brozosky elected again and guarantee Mrs. McGovern to retain her seat. Please Pleasanton residents do not fall for this hypocritical new initiative again strictly designed for political gain. The author of the initiative(Mrs. Ayala) needs to find a new hobby. She needs to come to grips with her loss for her bid for mayor and move on and take Mr. Brozosky and their group of nay sayers(Arkin, Fox, O'connor, Karla Brown, Martens, Roberts 1 & 2, Testa, Mr Pugh(Fox's husband who continually comes to the council meeting's complaining about the Lin's who they accused of not being an American citizen(which he is)while Mr. Pugh is not and cannot vote in the US.

Please elect Jennifer Hosterman for Mayor and Jerry Pentin for City Council. They really care about our community.

Anyone know why? This late in the game and there are no endorsements listed on Brozosky's website nor on smartvoter.org. He's only endorsed by the newspapers. What's the game?

I read on another forum that Brozosky's house was 3000 squ. ft. If the house in the picture is his, it's WAY more than 3000 squ. ft.!

What I don't get is Republicans supporting Brozosky and PP. If property rights are such a big issue for those of a more conservative leaning, why on earth would they support PP or Brozosky? Aside from being hypocritical, Brozosky and his support of PP are a slap in the face to property owners and their rights. Just ask the Spotorno family.

I'm not voting for Brozosky or PP for just this reason- it tramples property rights. And I'm a conservative Republican. Does that mean I'll vote for Hosterman? I'm not sure- I'll make that call tomorrow in the booth. But Brozosky sure is disappointing...

Which Republicans are supporting Brozosky? He's got no endorsements listed on his website other than from newspapers.

Based on the letters to the editor I saw, Doug Miller of the Alameda Co. Republican party is behind him, while Frank Capilla, who raised a whole lot of money for Brozosky two years ago, is dead set against him. Mr. Capilla apparently saw the light, while Mr. Miller has yet to be burned by Brozosky's hypocrisy...

I'm curious as to why someone who has a primary web address of CampVanVac, based in Ely, Minnesota, would care about Brozosky.

Why is someone posting pictures of this nature, yet hiding behind a web addy halfway across the nation?

"curious" - what does it matter. In a few clicks, sitting in a Pleasanton home, you or I could post pics on a site in Bangladesh, if desired. Most postings here are anonymous, aren't they? I noticed you didn't refute the message; you only attacked the messenger.

Stick To The Issue;

Your point was what exactly?

Bottom line, I could care less about the size of Brozosky's house. I care about how he, or whomever is elected at Mayor, runs this city. God knows it's in the toilet today...

I am a friend of Steve's. I've known him for a number of years and I have a lot of faith in him to want only to do the right thing for Pleasanton. These attacks on him for the size and location of his home are unconscionable in my opinion. Frank seems to be bearing a grudge for some reason and is obsessed with the size of this house.
On other forums, some of you suggest calling the candidate or representative and asking them the question and I would suggest the same to Frank, et al. Just to satisfy myself, I did just that. I called Steve today to discuss this issue as I know he does not read the blogs. I have never had reason to doubt Steve's honesty and this is what he told me.
The home he is in was built around 1972 and was remodeled about 10 years ago. The total square footage now is 4400 sq. ft. In the remodel, no grading was done nor were any trees removed other than a small orange tree. While he is on a hill, there are several homes higher than his as well as the water storage tank that Frank marked on one of his links. He does not, nor do I, consider his home to be on the ridgeline. If you stood at Steve's door in the shadow of that water tank, you would also agree that he is not on a ridgeline.
Yes, 4400 sq ft is pretty big. But it is not the mega mansion that Frank claims it to be. He has been very defensive about his estimate essentially saying it was 'calculated'. At first he stated it to be 6-7,000 sq ft and now above says it is 8,000 ft.... if not bigger. Frank, before you do any further posting with false claims, I suggest you contact the county assesor's office for accurate information. And perhaps you would be willing to also calculate the elevation of the other homes we can see in your link --the ones with the red roofs. Web Link
I still support Steve and will give him my vote tomorrow. Pleasanton will be better off under his leadership.

I don't know Brozosky. Maybe if I did he would tell me the truth. My experience in listening to him and then checking the facts has led me to believe that he either takes things out of context or just makes it up. His hypocrisy, in my opinion, has little to do with the size of his house, although it is hard to ignore that in light of the other things he says and does. His KKIQ commercial is a bold face lie. No one on the council has proposed getting rid of the housing cap and building high density housing. Are you kidding????? Let alone the mayor. Let's not even talk about the use of his daughter "who remembers" what her dad did when she was in elementary school.
