Push to impeach Obama gains steam

Original post made by Jim, another community, on Jan 31, 2013

A just-released poll of Lone Star State voters found 67 percent of Republican respondents support the impeachment of President Obama.

Of greater concern for liberals: the poll was conducted by the left-leaning Public Policy Polling.

In the crosstabs, PPP broke this down by party affiliation with Democrats opposed 83 percent to 12 percent, Republicans in favor 67 percent to 18 percent, and Independents opposed 54 percent to 32 percent.

Amazing that even 12 percent of Democrats support impeachment.

Also interesting was the racial breakdown concerning this issue with Whites supporting impeachment 48 percent to 41 percent, Blacks opposed 80 percent to 15 percent, and Hispanics opposed 58 percent to 30 percent.

Again, it's amazing that even 15 percent of Blacks and 30 percent of Hispanics would support his impeachment. Perhaps if the survey had indicated exactly what might be the constitutional grounds for impeachment, even more would have supported the impeachment.

It was also fascinating to see the breakdown by age as people older than 65 supported impeachment 46 percent to 38 percent.

So in Texas, the older you are, the more likely you want Obama impeached.

Something else to consider is that, inexplicably, 56 percent of respondents were women with 44 percent men. This probably reflected the PPP's left-leaning bias in favor of women against what social science research shows, which is that men tend to be more rational than women in matters political.

As women, not surprisingly, were far more likely to oppose impeachment (53 percent to 36 percent) than men (46 percent to 41 percent), a more equal sampling of the sexes would have found a greater percentage of Texans supporting impeachment.

"Perhaps if the survey had indicated exactly what might be the constitutional grounds for impeachment..."

Until information is presented identifying such reasons, surveys of this nature are utterly useless, as is this post.

I would love to Obama not in office. But we had an election and he was elected.
Yes I think he is bad for the country and all he will do is leave a large bill for my kids to pay. (Yes he is not the only one that has added to the bill my kids will be paying).
What disappoints me the most is he ran an election of fear and the people believed him? These are the people who am most upset with because they vote on fear and not issues.
Obama supporters I have no issue with you who feel his policies are correct that what make this a great country.
FYI
The new tax money has been spent. Now what we tax them some more or ask the middle class to pay more? Just maybe we should try cutting some spending that will not impact the economy. We have seen what happens when to try and cut the military spending this week. Plus bigger deep cuts to Mil spending is on the way.

Just maybe a more balanced plan would work. But no if we did that the old would be dying in the streets, kid would not be going to school and so on.

Wake up people we have a spending problem.
Pick one of the following
1) cut spending live within our budget
2) Kick the can down the road and have our kids pay the check
3) Raise tax on the middle class

Most you elected Obama now live with him.

I have absolutely NO PROBLEM with your children paying a "large bill".

Maybe they will learn to live within their means!

Cut spending to live within our budget: Yeup, I guess our recent govt spending cuts had nothing, absolutely nothing, with recent contraction of the economy. Thanks Repubs, for nothing.

Kick the can ... have kids pay. Sorry, but no way to predict. Repub dimwits were saying the same thing before Clinton came into office. It's usually a ruse, sponsored by Repub richies, to get tax reductions.

Raise tax on middle class? How about just raise tax on the upper class like the fool Gordon over on the other site? Why do rich Repubs always try to hold middle class hostage? There is no similarity whatsoever between richies (see Gordon) and middle class.

"Amazing that even 12 percent of Democrats support impeachment." Know why, because he's too far to the right of left. The extreme liberals don't like him because he tries to compromise with the right.

And, "Wake up people we have a spending problem" absolutely agree! Those damn Republicans supporting the defense contractors in their districts will do what ever it takes to keep getting their contributions! Purchase planes that don't fly, for example. Even if it means that it's at the expense of us.

I wonder if Nancy Pelosi is shaking in her boots that her boss might be impeached? As I recall, Bill Clinton wasn't too worried.

I've heard that some of the repubs. like to eat bacon and peach pie during official meetings. Sounds yummy to me...tee hee hee...
