County Transportation Commission calls off Measure B1 recount

Thank God this grab of taxpayer money was stopped. I doubt that most people who naively voted for this Measure realized that it would put our sales tax at 10% probably forever! Talk about a regressive tax AND to top it all off the fact that it would go on forever (yes forever if you had bothered to study the measure)! They almost fooled all of us - lets hope that the next time they try it somebody will have the guts to really expose what a mistake it would be to grant a lifetime of tax money to a bunch of STATE bureaucrats.

"said ACTC Chairman Mayor Mark Green. "These numbers show the urgent need to lower the voter approval threshold for special taxes in California.""

Again, Mr Green, your claim of some sort of mandate as justification for changing the rules just doesn't fly. Although I do understand that that is exactly what our Democrat leadership (?) in Sacramento plans on doing. Shame on you!

I think what Mark Green really was saying was, "We know that 50% of the local voters are completely uninformed and impressionable, so we want to reduce the threshold to 50% to get any new tax passed. That way we can pass every tax we want."

Local, I think you nailed it! It's idiot politicians like Mark Green (I liked the guy at one point in time)that are sure to eventually destroy the CA economy and provide the impetus for increased efforts from other states that are trying to recruit the CA corporations that are driving our economy.

The more I understand the control unions have over our politicians the less faith I have in our CA govement to get things right.
