Are developers taking over Measure QQ campaign?
Comments on Stories, posted by Editor, Pleasanton Weekly Online, on Oct 24, 2008 at 8:59 am

From a recitation of those killed on the war front to a charge that developer contributions are influencing the upcoming municipal elections, Tuesday's night's three-hour council meeting was a potpourri of issues, accusations and feel-good commendations. With a number of issues on the unusually light agenda postponed, it was a night for political chatter, and there was plenty.

Speaking of physical attacks against people doing political work, did anyone see in the news that McCain campaign volunteer who was attacked and had a "B" scratched into her cheek? Web Link

I hope the firecracker thrower and the "B" attacker are both brought to justice.

Is it normal for campaigning to occur at council meetings?

Stacey...

"Is it normal for campaigning to occur at council meetings?"

The answer is YES...both from the council members...as well as the speakers from the audience!!! Has always been so (in the 30+ years I have resided in Pleasanton) and will always be so!!! That is democracy in action!!!

Watch the news - the McCain worker made it all up. The biggest hint was that she scratched the "B" backwards - I guess she didn't realize how a mirror works.

Unfortunately, given the divisive personal smear campaign being run by McCain & Palin against Obama, something like this was bound to happen. Words incite action. Our country will be lucky if these kinds of incidents are the worst that occurs.

Yea, I saw it today. The lady made it up apparently. Maybe though she's got an abusive boyfriend to give her those black eyes.

Council Watcher,

Thanks for the answer! Seems more like politics in action.
