I cant wait! Yesterday's big rig accident I 580 had all traffic re-rerouted to Santa Rita & Valley on top of the regular commute. We need the parallel frontage road to I580 that Stoneridge Drive will provide and its overdue.

The Stoneridge extension is under construction now. There will be a bridge over the creek from the south side to the north, and then a connection to Jack London Blvd in Livermore.
And the Arroyo Mocho Trail from Pleasanton will be connected to the Jack London Trail in Livermore, so we'll be able to walk or bike all the way from I-680, through Pleasanton, through Livermore, and all the way to Lake Del Valle.

The Stoneridge extension will be great for commuters outside of Pleasanton when there is an accident on the freeway. However, it will be real bad for Pleasanton residents as our collector streets (Sunol Blvd, First St, and Santa Rita) will be completely clogged up as people get off the freeway as soon as they can (Sunol Blvd, and snake their way to Stoneridge) to get to 580. There might be some delay in this until the GPS providers are updated with the new route so this is an alternate route the GPS will suggest when the freeway traffic is heavy.

I wish this was NOT going thru. We all know how many commuters will snake their way thru surface streets to avoid a freeway backlog. Stoneridge extension will only add to our local traffic and add additional noise to our neighborhoods.

Hopefully it might get rid of all the knuckleheads that come down Santa Rita to valley, what a cluster, have never seen to many left turn red light runners in all my driving years, someday somebody is going to get hurt real bad there!! PPD could be picking them off everyday at commute time?? Lets have a little traffic enforcement once in awhile!

If memory serves me right stoneridge was always supposed to go thru to Livermore so no surprise there! That would be like moving next to the train tracks then complaining about the noise from the trains, be aware of the surroundings and plan ahead for the long term.

Map, you are so correct, as a matter of fact, when I lived there, I had to sign papers acknowledging that I was aware that the road would be extended. I cant wait for the road to be completed.

I am old. But everything americans stand for is progress. Just look at this election. You cant live in the past when it comes to life in the present. We can reminece, sure.
I imagined it, because progess is the name of the game.
