Comments on Stories, posted by Editor, Pleasanton Weekly Online, on Nov 2, 2012 at 2:10 pm

A big-rig driver who lost control when he drifted and crashed into the Interstate 680 center divide in Pleasanton late this morning has shut down all southbound lanes and one northbound lane of the highway for hours, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

I just got stuck in this mess, starting around 12:35. It took almost 40 minutes to get from the Bernal 680 NB entrance to the exit for Stoneridge. I cannot belive the PPD has not closed the NB Bernal entrance yet! Foothill was also backed up with the overflow.

there have been news copter over my house since 12:15pm -- non stop.

6 hours of fuel burned times 2 or 3 choppers.

All for pictures of a stationary object.

How about donating that fuel to the people in NYC who need it for their generators>

@frank...Im with you....they waste resources on the stupidest things. CHP updates to radio/tv would suffice.

Diva..was it the parking lot that was northbound i680 , the SIG alert or the news reports every 5 minutes on tv and radio that threw you for a loop. When you drove down Bernal you could see the traffic was completely stopped on the freeway....if you put down your phone while driving or looked past your cars hood you may have noticed. Why do you need a the cops to close an entrance when two lane were open northbound?

Those choppers were over our house ALL DAY!

Too bad for sick people at home or people who

need to sleep during the day for a graveyard shift.

....or those of us who were just sick of it after many

many hours. They were just sitting in one spot the

whole day. They left for a few minutes and we were

so glad...only to hear them come right back apparently

after REFLUELING. They went through more fuel than,

I'm sure, our whole city for a whole day.
