Alternatives to parking at Bart at Stoneridge Mall? Around Town, posted by Pleasantonian, a resident of the Mission Park neighborhood, on Sep 26, 2012 at 10:46 am Pleasantonian is a member (registered user) of PleasantonWeekly.com
Several times a month I have to take BART into the city on business. The past few times I have tried, there are no parking spaces left. The first time I was running late so I parked at the Mall but I know this is illegal and won't do that again. Since I only go infrequently, I don't want to pay for a monthly parking pass. Any solutions?

Around Town,
If you dont get to bart until after 8:30 most likely there will be very very little parking. I arrrive every moring at 6:30 at the pleasanton station, and it is already 3/4 full. So the earlier you go the better parking, anything after 8 is a big iffy.
Livermore is still not a done deal. They are still having talks on it.

It's a shame because they beg us to use public transportation but how many people can't because there is no where to park?

So true Pleasantonia, and then when there is not enough parking they will raise the rates for parking.. and I have no clue what they are building in the Dublin parking lot, is it another parking Garage or I had heard it was Condos, smack in the middle of the Dublin side parking next to the Parking Garage.. ( I am referring to the end of the line dublin)

BART tried to sell off the existing Livermore Lot - probably one of the rare moments when they owned up that they had no actual intention of fulfilling their promise to those taxpayers.
They also gave away the right of way to be a Lexus Lane.
Word got out, and they changed their mind.
But they have quietly sold the Dublin lot to a developer, now building condos, like you said. Big apartment buildings, instant slums made of ticky tacky, on what used to be open fields.
They claim that'll provide riders for the train. But those people need to park somewhere too, even if they do ride the train because there are few jobs in the middle of those fields- so you get more congestion, and lots LESS parking!
What's wrong with this picture?
And why doesn't the money they took in help pay for the Livermore tracks?
