Finest Hours State, National, International, posted by Informed, a resident of the Another Pleasanton neighborhood neighborhood, on Aug 28, 2012 at 7:29 pm
The finest hours I've ever seen on TV are happening now. Since 5:00 until 8:00, on C-Span....NO ADS.... Could be recorded straight. I ony hope they will repeat a the 3 hr time difference, and replay from start at 8:oo. The only chan without ads. The most little 5 min stories of individual small business families...mostlyk women. Women governors, The two greatest speakers, indian Gov. Nikki Haley, and
black Dem Congressman, who spoke at Obama's '08 convention, who is now a Republican. He gave an incredible speech.
These last 2 hours have been amazing. Now speaking is Ann Romney, but I'm recording and listening. Then Gov Christie. But what every young adult should hear is these last 2 hours, which will likely be instantly rerun...,.how lucky we are to be Americans. Networks, full of ads don't carry most of this.

If you watched the convention telecast on MSNBC, you probably would have come away with their idea that the Republican Party is only for white people. As they completely omitted all of the speeches by anyone of color. Thus promoting the canard that the Republican Party is the party of the white people. This is typical of MSNBC to omit things to paint their targets in negative ways. This is lying by omission. Although I did not watch MSNBC for the convention, that would be ridiculous, I did however watch the Internet stream from the RNC [and I will do the same for the Democrat convention, if they stream it live].
What was nice about the presentation was that the camera was on the podium the whole time pretty much except for a few panning shots of the participants. There was no pundant commentary, there was no commercials, there were no talking head interpretation for what was being said, as if I was dolt and couldn't understand for myself. This was the kind of non-coverage that makes these sorts of things worthwhile. Not having some idiot tell me what to think...priceless!

Well, as it turns out, a few others [networks] did the same thing, which goes to the point I was trying to make in the second paragraph. And on another note, what we see for coverage these days, is more about the people doing the coverage than what is actually happening. And while I am at it, this same problem is making the viewing of the football on television a pain in the you know what as well. I just don't like the commentators giving themselves face time while the real substance of what they're covering is going on in the background without even acknowledging it. But I digress...
Although I did not tune in, I understand C-SPAN provided event only coverage, without nuisance interruptions from talking heads. Again my previous comments go to the streaming video I watched which apparently was much in the same vein as that of C-SPAN.
I hope the lapses in coverage were only business decisions as to what kind of coverage they were going to offer and who they were going to cover. I would suspect that was in play in some instances, however I am not so ingratiating towards MSNBC as I think their motives were nefarious. Just my opinion.
I am looking forward to today's coverage on the YouTube RNC site. I especially like some of the musical numbers as one group was featuring the same guitarist that was in the Saturday Night Live Band for many years. An excellent band, and the music was wonderful.
Overall a good production. And I am looking forward to the more of the RNC and the Democratic convention next week.

I hope Fox covers the two hours of muslim prayers that is scheduled to precede the dem convention. Should make for riveting viewing, once you get past the obvious pandering to the religion of peace and their undecided followers.

I always watch C-Span live to make sure I don't miss anything, and that it isn't tranlated to me in lies, like msnbc does....but I don't like anybody's ads, AND all LIMIT the coverage, cutting what THEY want to cut. (sad msnbc creates a false pic to other blacks).
A classic example is the omission of blacks by msnbc.
One man's name is Artur (no h) Davis. Davis. As a black Harvard lawyer, Dem Congressman, he gave the 2nd nomination speech for Obama, at Obama's '08 convention.. He is now a Republican and last night gave a fabulous, passionate speech for Mitt Romney!! You would recognize him if you follow Washington. He said there are 6.2 million like him who are not staying with Obama. He said they voted right for '08, but need to 'correct the situation in 2012'.
And, what scares me, is Obama will be free to do anything he wants, since he won't give a DARN about any REelection, and could do some very scary damage.

Sam, even you can't really believe this story posted on huff po. Theres only a video of wolf blitzed self righteously imagining a vast right wing racist uprising.
This is reminiscent of the attacks on the tea party a couple of years ago, when some black politician claimed he was it upon. Even though there's video of the timeframe and area this guy was walking through the crowd, there's no evidence that any of his baseless claims were true. The tea party even offered up a reward to catch the perp if there was some proof of any indiscretion and of course no one could take them up on the offer.
It doesn't take much imagination for dems to dream this stuff up...it's all Alinsky style political attacks. Just goes to show there's no debating the issues or Obamas record by the left, only imaginary attacks to gin up the race baiters.
All the while, the press is caught with audio evidence claiming R's are letting blacks drown from the tropical storm.

I have several friends attending, there was NO such thing....probably another Debbie Wasserman lie...have to start calling her Desperate Debbie.
The Tues early eve, the leftist 'major' networks didn't even carry, which is why I always watch C-Cpan live,,, use my own eyes and own brain. Only stupid people would believe lies, much less repeat them !!.
THE FINEST HOURS were just that...stories from poor and middle individuals and couples who rather than handouts, started small enterprises, some still family business, most into small and medium companies, providing jobs for themselves and many others. Some now just hangng on. About half were legal immigrants who never took anything, but built successful companies.
Also, So Carolina GOV Nikki Haley, parents Indian immigrants, who literally fought to allow Boeing Air to have a plant in So Carolina,
not only did she defeat Obama, the first super plane has now been rolled out, Yet, Boeing parent plant in Seattle didn't LOSE anything, they have ADDED 2,000 new employees there. Obama wanted force the business out of US, if they wouldn't allow the 2nd So Carol plant to open. She won. Workers won. Everybody won. He wanted to shut things down, force unions in,...that's what the socialized union mentality does to stop free enterprise. That gutsy gal won, 2 states won, workers won. All very inspiring. So manyRepub gutsy gal GOVernors who move their states forward.
GOV Martinez, New Mexico, the first female hispanic gov, was born at the Mex & New Mex border, family thot they had to be Dems. As she got into the adult world found out she fit with Repubs and now governor....another successful story. over and over success over dependence....

Now, and this last hour a most incredible hour of hispanic stories of Republican immigrants. Now, stories of Mitt's personal service helping individuals in his community...without any knowledge, except those he helped, mentored, and provied for.
