Why are signs related to the upcoming election being STOLEN from people's front yards??

Actually, they are varied signs for various candidates and on the various measures.
I have since learned this is apparently the act of the lovely young adults we are raising these days. A neighbor found three kids in their yard last night trying to destroy their signs. We are now learning signs were taken or pushed over all around our neighborhood.
So, this wasn't "Hosterman and her minions." Just lovely young adults with parents who are clueless.

I suggest those highly concerned could point a security camera at the location of their signs and identify the "minions" instead of throwing around unsubstantiated accusations.

I have another device that will ensure the culprits are marked and identified that I will be using. I also believe if caught, one could pursue both trespassing and theft of personal property charges, if you catch my drift.

History lesson:
Matt Sullivan first coined the term political "minions" when referring to Brozosky's supporters. Since then it has become a much used term of endearment when referring to Pleasanton political opponents.

This town is just full of "lovely young adults" with clueless parents. Maybe that is why some of the Gatetree residents want to do whatever they can to squash these undisciplined kids. Think about it. How much should anyone suffer in order to allow the kids the right to trespass, vandalize and interfere with the lives of taxpaying citizens? I am not one who complained about noise but I have to say that these lawless kids and their useless parents got a smackdown they richly deserve. Teach your kids to respect people and property and be worth something to society.
And a camera will be useless. I'm thinking exploding dye packs . . .

Question:
Does anyone truely believe that these signs have any impact whatsoever on the election? My opinion is they are wasteful. A waste of money, resources, and then they simply become landfill. Half the time they aren't even collected or cleaned up after the election.

There are too many voters who do not read or research anything about the elections. For those people it is simply a matter of name recognition. Along the lines of no such thing as bad publicity. They see the same names often enough that when filling out the ballot they pick a familiar name. Stupid, yeah, but that's how it works.
About signs not being picked up -- Pleasanton has code enforcement people who will call the candidate whose signs are not removed as required by law. If they do not get to it quick enough for you just call the city and complain. It will be handled most likely the same day. All of the candidates are aware of this and they try to keep track of where their signs are so their workers can remove them if the property owner does not.
After saying that, I do agree with you that we are killing trees and creating landfill for no good reason.

Killing trees? Give me a break. Your post was good until you cited that. Looks like you don't do your research when it comes to "killing trees". Do you really believe that we don't have enough trees and making signs (or even using paper for that matter) puts them @ risk??? Also, dig deeper and you may find all the beliefs you hold about landfills could be wrong as well. Looks like you do not read or do the research to get the real facts. Do you believe polar bears are at risk too?

Unfortunately Last evening the sign I placed at the corner of Vineyard and Bernal was not only removed, but replaced by an opponents sign. I received permission to have the sign I placed there, I wonder if this person received permission to remove the one I placed there and replace it with the alternative?
Prop 8 is an emotional issue, I'll admit...but the irony here is that their sign states "equality for all"...which continues to be debated.
Protect Traditional Marriage and our children...Vote Yes on Prop 8
