Crime nationwide has been dropping for about 20 years. Pleasanton is at about a third of the national average:

How do you know the teens had no weapons? You rather get your A** kicked, killed, stapped, etc instead of protecting yourself and others next to you.

liberalism is a disease: Wow you are a profiler! There are many African Americans that live in the Bay Area and Central Valley that work hard for their money and are very nice people. So for you to say a deepest, darkest Oakland is very racial. You have no idea where the teens live.

The Pleasanton Police Department needs to have a sub-station at Stoneridge Mall because this situation is not going to get any better. I don't even go there anymore. It's just getting scetchy.

(Mall owners listening?)

I drive all the way up to Walnut Creek. It's just a more enjoyable shopping area. I don't even mind the drive anymore.

Been There Too, This morning's paper covered a similar incident in Walnut Creek:

"Walnut Creek

"Two women sought in auto garage robbery

Police are seeking two women suspected of robbing women at knifepoint Wednesday in a Broadway Plaza parking garage.

"The robbery happened at 5:22 p.m. in the parking structure at 1390 N. Broadway, police said. The two female victims were in a parked car in the garage when the two suspects approached them with knives drawn and took their purses, Sugrue said.

"Both suspects were black and about 22 years old with thin builds and about 5-foot-6. One had tattoos on her arms, curly dark hair and was wearing a strapless denim jump suit. The other was wearing a long tribal dress with a bright color pattern.

Both were last seen running through the upper level of nearby Macy's and possibly leaving in a dark-colored Lexus SUV."

Fake Steve, given that cars were the escape vehicles, you can give up the fake BART concerns.

Doesn't hurt to be cautious and be aware of those around you.
