Helicopter Overhead
Crimes & Incidents, posted by Just Wondering, a resident of the Vintage Hills Elementary School neighborhood, on Jul 5, 2012 at 10:24 pm

Anyone know what's going on? There's a helicopter buzzing back and forth over Vintage Hills. Can't see it, but it's been up there for at least 10-15 minutes.

Might be a news chopper covering the horse jockey accident at the fair?

@Neighbor - don't think so, this was late last night 9:30 - 10:30 pm

Plus too far from Fairgrounds. We are talking south east side of Ptwn, by Shadow Cliffs.

it is obama's homeland security eyeballing the few pleasanton citizens who disply the american flag. you know, these are the terrorists that worry obama...not the radical islamists.

Ever since I spoke up about BART and the union-financed thugs in Oakland, Obamacysts have been taping my phone. I bet dollers to donuts that the phone tapers are unionized.

I could hear those on the helicopter announcing the park was closed (so it was after 10 pm). Not sure if this is a new attempt at enforcing the curfew because there are people grilling and fishing in the dark. Never seen them enforce the curfew, although I'll be grateful if they do.

So much information! In other words, someone's insinuating that they called in the police to rid the neighborhood of park users. Niiiiice!

Call what police? It's county land last I knew, and I would hardly be calling anyone and can't see what's going on back there anyway. Lots of fireworks this week; maybe the concern was a potential fire? Clark, why not ask the sheriff's department what the cause was.

According to East Bay Regional Park District, the helicopter was keeping an eye on people breaking the park curfew and evading the police. Helicopter was used until officers on the ground could remove them. See, just a simple phone call.
