Coolest City - one of the articles in this news piece is a game about which city can reduce their carbon footprint the most. Of course it is sponsored by the California Air Resources Board, a group of unelected officials paid to come up with policies that will drive the USA to eventually be another third world country.
How about when the populace actually saves water, energy, and limits trash output, we actually see our efforts rewarded in cash. Instead the water utilities claim they are not delivering as much water so they have to charge more. The power companies claim they are not delivering as much electricity or gas so they need to charge more. The garbage companies claim that people are recycling too much and they are losing money so they need to charge more.
How about giving the people who are conserving resources a monetary break instead of rewarding utility company executives with unbelievable pay raises, PG&E rewarded their top 5 executives with 94% pay increases. And they want us to save in order to pay more? No wonder Midwesterners think that Californians are nothing but a bunch of suckers!!!!

Wheres all the liberal socialist terroists who want to claim that fireworks are a silly display of patrioticism and that the money should be spent instead on students and other entittlement groups?

Hello Jane,
Just to let you know. Besides the 20 minute fireworks display. There was live music and close up parking for the $25. If people had purchased on line the price for advanced parking tickets was $20.
$20 was the price that had been charged by LARPD for years before the event was canceled in 2011.
Here is a link to our Website and poster describing what was happening at the event.
