Good bless the good people of Livermore for showing some patriotism and a sense of civic pride, when most cities are scrapping their fireworks shows altogether.
It's too bad Pleasanton no longer has a fireworks display - I heard they cancelled it because of gang related shootings that happened during the fireworks show. Just another example of the urban thuggery in the East Bay ruining things for good upstanding, Tri-Valley citizens

Yes its nice to know they were able to get some major funding for the event! Its too bad they moved the locution, as it will cause a lot of confusion for people that don't get the message or read it carefully.
Oh speaking of reading carefully Mr Teller you may have missed that Pleasanton, well its always been the Fair people, are doing three shows of fireworks this year rather than the one they usually do. This way with Livermore doing theirs you get 4 shows to see in the try-valley area!

The "shooting incident" occurred 14 years ago. The COUNTY fireworks at the Alameda County Fairgrounds are missed by many Pleasanton residents who watched from all over the city. The "good" that came out of that incident and subsequent inability to get insurance for keeping the fair open at night on July 4th is that volunteers have, for 14 straight years with the event this year, a community based, old-fashioned picnic July 4, themed as Celebrating freedom and it's Evolution Since the Revolution, noon to 1:30, with over 60 minutes of music from our Pleasanton Community Concert Band, directed by Bob Williams. Lions and Raley will serve up grill-cooked hotdogs this year. A drink and a dog for $1. See you at Lions-Wayside Park across from the California Small Business of the Year, Meadowlark Dairy.

Urban Thuggery in Pleasanton ? LOL Yea, there's a lot of that going on here in our little white Hamlet.. In my 23 years of living here, those idiots that shot their guns at the fair was the only thing close to "Urban Thuggery" i've seen.. Our P.D. does a pretty good job of keeping our city safe, that day 14 years ago was just an unfortunate exception, we probably should have had metal detectors even back then, we just got complacent about our safety here. "So we Adapt and Overcome" We still live in Disneyland.. William your absolutely right though, Livermore has always put 4th of July celebrations at the top for all Tri Valley folks.. Even though it's not that much, it does bug me that they are charging for the fireworks.. Last year San Ramon put on a great Free picnic and fireworks... I guess a sign that things are NOT improving..
