Told in their own words, these six individuals share their captivating stories of perseverance, including their struggles in captivity and the small daily triumphs that gave them the hope to continue living. He will be discussing his latest book at 7 p.m., June 21 at Towne Center Books, 555 Main St., Pleasanton. This is a free event but reservations are helpful 846-8826 or email orders@towncenter.com.
