The executive director of the Tri-Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau is moving aggressively and successfully in promoting the region. Grant Raeside told members of the Valley Real Estate Network that there's been a 6.5% increase in the occupancy rate of the Tri-Valley's 38 hotels with Danville's one hotel, the Best Western, leading the way at 85% occupancy.

I will say again that unless he changes the organization from a social club for insiders to something that actually promotes businesses the CVB will continue to be a dismal failure. Promoting the Palm Event center or Concannon winery is not showing the best of this area. Bigger and more ostentatious wineries can be found anywhere in Napa.

A complete change of staff is a good start but doing something for the merchants and the smaller players will prove that this guy actually wants to succeed.
