I see the cops are still prioritizing writing speeding tickets over preventing crime. Hello... The Three Stooges and Matt Sullivan on the City Council...where are your priorities? Raising revenue by writing speeding tickets or going after murders, assualts, rapes, muggings, and theft?

Writing tickets is because of a deal struck by police union leaders. But that means allowing the BART system and interstate corador to be crammed full of low income types from Oakland who, unregulated, are given the green light to steal high school band equipment.

Access to the building was through a hatch on the roof. Then the door to the Princiapl's office was kicked in. There is a safe. Everything in it is still safe. A small amount of money was taken from an individuals locked desk, this money was being held for a group or club. Understand they feel the theives were going after the Sr. Ball money. Also understand they feel it is probably an inside job (not a random person taking BART into Pleasanton). I don't see how the police writing tickets to those that deserve a ticket would have prevented this or any other crime from happening. How would the police know to be patroling around the Foothill campus at the time of the breakin? And then if they were wouldn't you just complain that they werent in another part of the city where perhaps another crime was being committed at the same time. What I have learned is this: in the world, only about 10% of the populace have common sense, sadly it seems to be the other 90% that make comments in the PW.

I suggest you hurry up and pay your ticket so you can get over the cops doing their job. They cant be everywhere at once but I believe they do a pretty good job. You dont like it? Why dont you see what its like living in Oakland or SF with their police department. Be thankful PPD does such a good job. And murders? Rapes? Muggings? Pleasanton had their first murder last week in over 5 years and it looks like they exactly what you said they dont. They are actively investigating it and doing their job. I know its not the answer you want to hear but believe it or not, traffic enforcement is just a small fraction of their job. How about you slow down so you dont get another ticket?
