Major work on Bay Bridge's eastern span may be completed today

Construction on the Bay Bridge's new eastern span is reaching "another historic occasion" as workers finish the compaction of the main cable that snakes through the bridge's tower and under the deck.

As Sen. Everett Dirkson used to say, "A Billion here, and a Billion there, pretty soon you're talking real money!"

It needs updating for Obama Era: "A Trillion here, and a Trillion there, pretty soon we're bankrupt!"

Greece today, U. S. in a year or so.
