In case of emergency info for 1st responders Around Town, posted by Jersey94566, a resident of the Downtown neighborhood, on Apr 25, 2012 at 8:20 am
My son plays football and baseball in Pleasanton, and over the past several years I've seen not only ambulances drive onto the field, but also a helicopter land to rescue an injured child. I've just learned about a color-coded emergency card with all the information needed if there's ever an accident. Red striped cards mean high risk (diabetes, hemophilia, etc.), yellow is medium risk (allergies), green indicates low risk. It has a picture, personal info, blood type, and all the info a first responder would need to care for a person. It's offered through a non-profit organization called About the Kids Foundation (www.aboutthekids.org) It would be great if the coaches had these cards for the players instead of a piece of paper just showing insurance information.
