The Shadow Cliff Water Sides have been a treasured local amenity for 30 years without costing the taxpayers a dime. This has been a success story of a joint public/private venture, but if we do not speak up in support it will be lost forever.

In the summer of 2008 27,000 tickets were sold. My sons were among the thousands of kids running up the hill and splashing into the pools on those sweltering hot days. They and their friends rode their bikes, clutching the two for one coupon for hours of wholesome affordable fun, literally in our own backyard.

Please tell East Bay Regional Parks District that this valuable Tri-Valley asset must be saved! Saving the slides will not cost taxpayers a dime but local tax revenue will be lost along with this great family friendly amenity if it goes away. Show up to the meeting or send an email of support.

Well written, Julie. I'll be there!

Ever since my boys were 2 years old when we passed by the Waterslides, they would ask me when we were going to go ride the slides. Now, this summer when they are finally old enough and after countless promises from me, I have to tell them the slides are temporarily closed. I have not let them know the slides may never open again, nor could I provide them a compelling reason for the closure.

Please come tonight to the Parks & Rec Meeting to show your support for the slides. Let's not let this treasured attraction be relegated to the dust bin. SAVE OUR SLIDES!
