Good for Ross, and makes sense. In Obama's economy, discount clothing stores, discount grocers, and discount gasoline are all doing well; because we're losing purchasing power and trying to buy our staples as cheaply as possible. If liquor stores and check cashing stores were publicly traded; that's where I'd put my money.

This is very good news, it means consumer spending is going up and we maybe moving towards a good economic recovery. Real recovery will be determined by the movement in home prices. Although home prices have remained depressed throughout the nation, Pleasanton has not done too badly despite the lack of inventory. Fingers crossed that growth continued unabated.

The bad news, that was not in this article, is that Ross is moving its headquarters to Dublin. They will be there by mid-2014.

There's a reason why Ross Stores is leaving the CarrAmerica campus. Probably the same reason that Ross has been the only consistent tenant in the last 8+ years and the majority of the buildings have remained empty.

The good news is that with Ross moving to the new campus, they'll be able to accommodate their quickly growing business which means new jobs.

Can you elaborate on that? What is the reason? I would be interested in knowing.
