Obama: I’ll veto bill that will provide water to California’s Central Valley State, National, International, posted by Water to Central Valley, a resident of the Amador Estates neighborhood, on Feb 29, 2012 at 1:28 pm
Obama's WAR against the American economy continues.
Let's see how Representatives McNerney and Stark vote. I won't hold my breath. A vote to continue shutting off water to California's Central Valley is tantamount to extortion and worse.

This poster Jimoful/WCV/Jimbo is just killing the discourse here. Other sites that I frequent block out discourse killers like this. I'm not advocating censorship. It's the editor's call.
That said, I think Jimoful makes a good point when he says "shutting off water to California's Central Valley is tantamount to extortion and worse." It's clear what is being extorted here. Obama is saying he won't turn the water back on unless we pledge allegiance to his communist-muslim kool-aid drinking god.

Jimbo, look up the Klamath Water Users Association www.kwua.org. It has been in existence since 1905 and is the model for cooperative use of water resources in the western states. Small, but hugely effective, they focus on long-term stewardship. Unlike California, they work with all stakeholders, including the feds and Native American tribes, not just the ones they like.
Turning this issue into an anti-Obama, anti-democrat thread is off the mark and short sighted, and yes, a discourse killer.

Why are you being such a tool to big agribusiness that effectively get huge water subsidies? Do you realize that agribusiness uses nearly 80% of all processed water in CA and gets it for about 1/6 the wholesale price that you and I pay?
This bill would put Resnick and all his agribusiness cronies at the front of the line to get as much water as they want even in drought years? This is the same Resnick that illegally took more water out of the delta than he should have a few years ago and sold it back to the bay area for a $100M profit?
Get informed and stop being such a tool for such a crony capitalist bill.

I read the link, and the important point for me is that the dust bowl policy invoked in this case concerns "the Delta smelt, a fish that’s not suitable for eating." Well how important can it be then? I mean, if you can't eat it, what's the big deal? Same with sea otters and sea turtles. Why is everyone getting upset that they're disappearing? Have you ever eaten one? The only animals worth saving are cows and pigs and chickens. You can eat them. The rest we can do without. This is all Obama's fault. And Queen Nancy Pelosi.

I did not create this post. Every topic I start is in my own username.
At the risk of going off topic, I do not kill the discourse here. In fact, I create it and aid it. A glance at TownSquare Forum in nearby towns, you will see many topics with zero or one reply, the forums are mainly inactive. The PW TS forum has grown since I started creating political conversation here.
I address politics from my POV, just like anyone else does in every forum everywhere. I address people in a respectful manner and engage individuals who attempt a thoughtful debate.
A growing numbers of views and replies means more ad revenue for the publishers, and so the trolls will not likely get their wish that I be censored.

a neighbor, as you well know, the term troll is just a descriptive name for someone who (like slippers, faye, teacher and unions are very, very bad) who do nothing all day but sit in their pajamas in their basement and post sarcastic, meaningless comments that stifle conversation on a given topic. Respectful? Is being a troll respectful of the readers of the PW? Since when do you think you occupy the high ground here and what did your comment add to the conversation? Troll.

I accord everyone the respect they give to the conversation. When I see trolling, I call it trolling. And trolls are responsible for it. And a troll is not a person Web Link

You lose all credability when you make a ridiculous statement that Obama is at war with the American economy.Of course in your extremist view he is not really an American. You people are truly amazing.

You people? What a racist, demeaning comment. When I moved to Pleasanton back in 1990, I was warned about the racist leftists that claim to be without faults, but are really in the closet with their beliefs about the people they claim to help and keep dependent on govt handouts.

Thanks for owning up and confirming the obvious, Lewie. I'm not in denial, but you obviously can't come to grips with who you really are. Drop the righteous facade---no one is nominating you or the other leftist trolls for sainthood or a peace prize.
