Schools & Kids, posted by Editor, Pleasanton Weekly Online, on Feb 16, 2012 at 11:04 pm

" I'm hoping the community will trust us in making good decisions, knowing that our intention isn't to do this every time we have a chance to do it."

I can't speak for the community, but I don't trust the school to do this right.

"Johnson said, as is the case with drug detection dogs, that every student gets the opportunity to present her or his side of the case."

How wonderful. Johnson, I hope you realize that completely innocent people can get caught up in things like this. It happened to a personal friend of mine. How many innocent kids will have their lives wrecked in this way? Children commit suicide over things like this. Think about it.

Ballot initiative? Dead. On. Arrival.

Do not waste any more community money, time and energy on this. Can't you learn your lessons?

Reading is way overrated. Ask George W. Bush and Sarah Palin. We don't need readers to stock shelves in a grocery store. Public education is a conspiracy to make people overqualified for basic production jobs that keep this society profitable. Beware of the coming tsunami. It's because the union teachers are corrupting our young.

Patriot

Kids don't commit suicide over a search. Haven't seen that one yet. They do it over bullying, absent parents, and others that pressure them beyond their capabilities. Last time I checked we gave up a few civil liberties to live in a safe society. Don't you want kids to be safe at school? Don't you want kids to drive drug and alcohol free?

Really?, you have no idea what the circumstances are regarding youth suicides in the last 5 years or are hopelessly out of touch.
