Hosterman Contradictions - Bias at the Weekly??? Comments on Stories, posted by iwastheretoo, a resident of the Amador Estates neighborhood, on Sep 2, 2008 at 3:21 pm
Interesting that the 'Hosterman Contradictions' blog has mysteriously disappeared. Is this the Weekly Playing politics? If not, perhaps they could explain it's absence.

Hey 'iwastheretoo' I was going to say something mean like "Oh my gosh, the sun just disappeared a few hours ago. Must be a conspiracy. Probably the 'Weekly' was behind it. Oooooh, mysterious." But that would have been mean, huh? And it might have shown a little lack of knowledge on my part. Good thing I figured it out before I posted a ridiculous comment, don't you think?
I believe an apology to the 'Weekly' would be polite, as well.

DON"T APOLOGIZE..... The "weakly" is known for having an agenda. When the blogs go in a direction that the "weakly" doesn't like...it gets moved, lost, or adjusted. When the talks heat up and politics are in question... don't be surprised for uncle Jeb to come in and "put them back in order"....
This is a public forum, and its for us (the public) to gather info and share opinions...For you guys to ask them for an apology on a proposed question (not even their opinion) is absurd...

The problem is that we don't know from where the "Hosterman Contradictions" thread disappeared for iwastheretoo. The front page of this website (i.e. Web Link)? Or did the thread disappear from the Town Square main page (i.e. Web Link)?
The posts that appear on the website's front page appear to be manually selected by PW editors and if the thread disappeared from there then claims of bias could be valid. I would not expect the PW though to keep around old threads on the front page forever. But if the post disappeared from anywhere else on the Town Square interface (the main page or the message view) then the apparent disappearance is more due to the user's lack of understanding of this website's user interface (usability issues can be serious problems for websites) than the PW being biased.

I myself do thank the Weekly for having this public forum. Where else in Pleasanton can we have such diverse views from possibly thousands of diverse persons be expressed and displayed?
Doo Doo: The question of bias without merit makes a statement; not an innocent question. Also your generalizations outside of this specific incident and anecdotal info don't make a case.
iwastheretoo doesn't back up his/her statement with nothing more than he/she couldn't find an older post that is obviously still there.
This is a public forum provided by the Weekly. An apology is appropriate and perhaps even a thank you to them for having the forum would be civilized.

OK I'm ready
The merit you're asking for is implied with the question, derived from their previous experience with the Weekly. This is not a new topic around here, sorry if your an occasional reader. The issue was strengthened with a supportive comment (my comment). The Weekly will be the first to tell you that it will "get involved" if they deem necessary.
Keep in mind that there are a great number of readers that have opinions, and don't post anything. That fact alone tells you that we can't be alone in our thoughts. No matter how many of us there are. This is a public forum...
And I am thankful for the site, so I'll say it...THANK YOU PLEASANTON WEEKLY ...where else would I have access to people like you...
