Flying Under the Radar: Hiding Romney's Non Christian Credentials
If Mitt Romney would tell thetruth about his religion, that it is the kingdom of god on earth and that he has taken an oath to follow the dictates of church leaders who would tell him to implement the kingdom of god, he would have to comply.

This is very ignorant, Mormons are Christian.
Also known as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, Mormons follow the teachings of Christ which is the definition of Christian. Romney is not hiding his commitment to his religion. I am not Mormon but I respect the values that members of the Mormon church live by.
Many people thought it was scandalous when Kennedy, a Catholic, ran for office. Should we worry that a Catholic president will be controlled by the Pope?

Radar/truth what or whoever.....you must have been living under a rock (that's where slimmy things live) for this last year, if you've
missed all the discussions, interviews, newspaper & magazine articles this last year. Nobody has hidden anything ! ! Most people aware of national 'happenings' were aware of the "mormon" speech he gave during the campaign 4 years ago.
If you are trying to diddle with brains of half-wits, just move on, you'll have to look elsewhere.
Romney has always answered all questions, where religion might be relevant. He is not an 'I', 'I',or, 'me','me, person who 'volunteers' personal info. He was raised to be personally humble, and a private 'gentleman'. He is not an egotisical blowhard like Newt Gingrich.
Mitt's personal life is simple, one wife for 42 years, with 5 children and 16 grandchildren. Mitt's Father George, was a popular Governor in Michigan, reelected to serve THREE terms, and strangely, 'religion'; didn't seem to be an issue when Father was first elected in 1962 ! Have we DEgenerated as a people since then ??? Such bigotry ! ! !
Newt was supposedly a southern baptist while he was having his affairs during his first two marriages. Then Newt 'flipped' over to catholic to satisfy his current wife, (Calista, stiff, bleached blond). Newt's sort of wishy-washy in the morals, committments, and religious areas of life. His gay half-sister, scheduled a committment ceremony, so rigid Calista and Newt went on their Greek Island cruise....missed the ceremony ! ! ! Sis thought that was just as well....they are estranged.
No family fueds in Mitt's family. And his wife rides horses and lets her hair blow in the wind. Mitt's sons are key in his campaign. Last spring Newt's entire staff walked off the campaign one day, mad about wife Calista's dominance...now they've hired new staff who understand it's 'their' campaign...not Newt's, but they are pretty much trying to do most themselves. It's really doesn't work to micro-manage all details of white house and the country without 'working with' those around you.
Since Kennedy had to 'explain' his catholic religion, then jumping to today, having 6 of our 9 Supreme justices catholic...then letting a Catholic convert couple in white house, whew, NO diversity at all... but radar dares to pick at Mitt's mormonism...which was good enough for the WORLD Olympics committee who called in Mitt to 'RESCUE' a failing olympics, about to be CANCELLED from MISmanagement. Since fixing failing operations is what MITT does, he DID rescue those Olympics and they turned a PROFIT that year. ! Confident and competent ! ! ! cool.

Look, the Republican crowd couldn't care less if Romney is a Mormon polygamist or a capitalist cannibal. Nor could they care less that Gringrich is about the poorest example of a human being one can think of. It's only when a Democrat cheats on his wife that the 'moral' question arises. See, for example, Sarah Palin's catastrophic cadre of kids -- badly educated, sexually promiscuous, law-breaking ... can you imagine what the right (as well as the corporate media) would have said if _any_ of this shameful behavior were associated with the Obama family?
Fact is, the Republicans only care if their guy or gal promises to bash people of color while protecting the holdings of the rich. Nothing else matters to them. They are a sorry lot. And Newt Romney are just as pathetic for pandering to them.

Guy - I feel sorry for you if all you can do is view the world through the prism of racism. It is hard to imagine how limiting that must be for you.
I do hope one day you can comprehend the one key difference between your position and that conservative position you like to bash. Conservatives believe they themselves are responsible for the outcome of their lives and all they expect from government is a fair environment that provides equal opportunity (not equal outcome that many are yelling about these days).
This doesn't mean there are things like tax code adjustments that need to happen. etc. But his has absolutely nothing to do with racism.
It is good to see that the more people like you try to use the racism card, the more people discount it. You in fact are doing a disservice to true racism situations.

I do find it interesting that the Republican religious right will rally around Gingrich whose personal life does not come close to embodying the ideals of Christianity and yet shuns Romney who is basically a Boy Scout because he is Mormon.

GX remains the clueless one. The red-eyed, cannibalistic Republicans aren't embracing Gingich for his religion. Nor are they shunning Romney because of the polygamist sect he belongs to. Only a simpleton could think that is what's driving the fascist-Republican crowd. No, they're embracing Newt because he embodies all of the ugliness that defines what it is to be a fascist Republican. So, everybody, let's fire all public school janitors in this time of high unemployment and put little impoverished black kids to work. You know, have the kids change light bulbs, wash the third story windows, fix the electrical appliances that break down. Cuz we know that the majority of parents of impoverished kids are irresponsible and don't hold jobs themselves. What? You say the overwhelming majority of parents at or below poverty line DO hold at least one job, and often two? Hey. No fair! That doesn't fit with my racist view of the world. Newt! Newt! Newt!

Just for the record, Guy, when was Newt quoted as saying "So, everybody, let's fire all public school janitors in this time of high unemployment and put little impoverished black kids to work"?
Oh, I get it....you're taking another page out of that Alinsky book, making up quotes to include race hoping it sticks. I'm sure you could dig up plenty of dirt on every candiate you despise, but once you start making stuff up, you've lost all credibility and your posts become a waste of time. Unless you can cite direct quotes, don't bother responding.
"I've tried for years to have a very simple model. Most of these schools ought to get rid of the unionized janitors, have one master janitor and pay local students to take care of the school. The kids would actually do work, they would have cash, they would have pride in the schools, they'd begin the process of rising."
steve, I would agree that "get rid of" is the same as "fire".

Open the Book of Mormon!read it. If you believe the bible, you cant refute the the book of Mormon! If you dont believe it then you dont understand the bible! The thread that runs through both books is the Atonement of Christ!Romney understands the Jews place in this world! They wrote both books!

This isn't about whether/not someone believes in a particular religion. This is about the separation of church and state and whether/not someone's particular religion should be a factor.
Again, I thought we crossed this bridge decades ago with Kennedy. Religion should not be a factor.
I do hope that one day we can evaluate candidates by their track records. This country would be much better off with elected officials who were actually accomplished individuals and not career politicians.

It's fun to observe the right-wing nitwits debate the bible, politics, the book of Mormon, etc. They're as dumb when they talk with one another as when they are addressing humanists who are positioned to the left of neanderthal. Fact is, Gingrich is a poor excuse for a human being, and the battery-operated Romney isn't human at all. Whichever one carries the Republican vigilante torch into the general election in November of 2012 will see it snuffed out by a large majority of the American public.
The Republican Party has such a dearth of credible candidates because the Republican agenda is devoid of credibility. It needs to be tossed into the gutter with all other fascist ideology.

The doctrines that the Morman religion believe in are very clear.
Mormons do not believe that Jesus's birth was of a virgin.
They also believe that Jesus and Satan are brothers. Also,Mitt will inherit his own planet when he dies, in order to repopulate the earth below. His grandfather was a polygamist who took his family to Mexico when things got heated in Utah.Mitt Romneys dad was born there.Dont be fooled. He does not practice polygamy because of US law.He believes in it, though...just as he holds Joseph Smith and Brigham Young in high regard. He took oaths in their "temple"
that only that secret society can.He WILL follow advice from his "prophet", as he took an oath to.All of this csn be confirmed by researching. All in black and white.Really just the tip of the iceberg.

If one wanted to be obnoxious, they could take almost any religion and list out all the idiosyncratic ideas that might seem odd to non-members of that religion.
While I don't believe in the teaching of the Mormon faith, I respect their right to practice their religion as they see fit as long as they don't harm anyone else.
And one's religion affiliation will have no impact on who I vote for for president.
It is sad to see the hypocrisy of the religious far right continue to try to undermine one of the most competent and accomplished candidates running for president and instead run to the corner of Gingrich - one of the most unethical and un-Christian like people running for president.
Will you be joining the Obama re-election parties next year? You should as you will have much to do with his win.

So 25, would the work of Jesus be deminished if his Mother was not a virgin?
You are right GX, anyone examining any religion or group could not withstand truly close critical evaluation. For example catholic
beliefs in purgatory, worshiping idols, confessing to a questionable fellow and sins are erased, and the power they give to satan, all practices unfathomable to outsiders, but each to his own. What makes one set of beliefs have power to be judgemental over another.. It is all called 'faith'...not science. A true follower
of the Bible would practice "judge not lest ye be judged".
Our founders fought hard for this country of 'individuals' to be
free from religious judgementy and the country was to have NO
religious test to serve as a US President. Only the most ignorant and petty bigots ignore our founders gift that has made our country great.
