There is much more detail in other papers.
The SF Chon story also said that an alert BART policeman saw the perp with a suspicious pickup truck that might be involved in the theft, but let him go...
What happened?
How can wire, which it said could be identified as coming from BARTD, be sold to a recycler?

Someone also stole the brass letter off the signs at the entry way of Mohler Ranch. The fire hydarants have also been targeted in Pleasanton. It is so disgusting. I think the recycling and foundry places that know these items have been stolen should be prosecuted. The cops need to find out who was buying. In Oakland, some dirtbags stole the bronze memorial to the Oakland Firestorm victims. How ugly is that. "Dennis McGuire"....and imagine that, to all you folks who like to blame the African American population of Oakland...it was a white guy.

Lisa, why did you have to bring race into this story? I bet you searched far and wide to find that isolated example. Question is, why do we care what race the scumbag is? While your tracking down anomalies, see if you can find any women thieves.

Lisa probably mentions that due to the many bigoted references on this site regarding crime in Pleasanton, i.e. comments about BART and Stoneridge mall crime!
Obviously there is a brisk market in these metals and these thieves are able to sell it pretty easily. The law needs to look at the recyclers who are profiting from buying it from the thieves.
