Matt Campbell, principal of Pleasanton Unified School District's high school summer school program, addressed the graduates of the Class of 2008 at the ceremony July 25. Fifteen students completed the requirements for graduation during summer school and were awarded their diplomas.

This is the current story, not the 2007 story, but congratulations to all. Sometimes going at one's pace, making up for, and recovering from unforseen circumstances thrown one's way really does pay off.

I'm really glad that Pleasanton does have a program which allows for this variation, and glad that the students do get their due recognition. Thank you, PUSD, for recognizing that this is important in the grand scheme of "things".
