About a year ago the store started changing - not the same displays, merchandise or employees!!! It was a great store, but it was not the same!!!! It seems like downtown needs a store like this. Too bad they could not make it work!!!

even tho domus was an expensive stor it was always a fun store 2 go 2. we got some of our christmas ornaments and halloween decorations ther, BUT PLEASE DONT PUT IN ANY MORE SPAS!

main street is a bore except for outsiders looking for a stroll down a quiet street after dinner. Not much for the locals - the food is average and the bookstore is the one highlight. NO MORE SPAS

I agree. No more over-priced iron scrollwork stores, no more hair salons, nail salons, massage places, botox places...jeez, are we that pathetic? No chains! Except Ben and Jerry's, (what is in that stuff at Coldstone Creamery? Eww.)

That is a very large space to fill. Looks like a perfect place for a Rite Aid or Walgreens. It would increase foot traffic as residence stroll out to buy toliet paper and other sundry items. The increased foot traffic would be beneficial to other merchants.

That space is big enough for a chain. I don't see what everyone is so up in arms about allowing a large chain to come in and bring more foot traffic to downtown? Cold Stone, Quiznos, Tullys, High Tech Burrito, Fleet Feet. Make our downtown a destination!
This goes out to the building owners and developers! The bank going into the Koln Hardware store is a prime example of developers selling us all short!
Besides a large chain who do you think can afford such a big space in today's economy? A nail salon or a bank! We minus well get ready for it!

About one year ago is when people who regularly shopped downtown stopped shopping. As someone who works in a store in our downtown, it is very difficult to stock the store with new items when there is no cash flow. So all you people complaing about Domus going out of business - did you actally buy stuff there or just use their bathroom and their big parking lot?

Bob, I completely agree with you. We need a store that will draw foot traffic - I never have a need to go downtown because the stores just aren't enticing enough. Shopgirl.... I agree with you too. I would love to shop at some of the clothing boutiques and can afford to do so, however it seems those stores only cater to those who fit into small sizes. What about Size 10 or 12? EVER HEARD OF THOSE????

it is a disappoint to lose Domus, but to be quite honest, im ready for a change. i tend to shop and dine in downtown Livermore ... and i LIVE in pleasanton. im not asking for a big box walmart to move downtown... but seriously its true none of the stores really entice to me shop. (altough my dog loves three dog bakery! lol)

Hey, an idea for that location that would stop another spa, nail salon, boutique, bank, ect., from locating downtown and, almost certainly, guarantee a crowd downtown eager to spend their hard earned dollars - especially Friday and Saturday nights.
A replica of BILLY BOB'S TEXAS!!!!! A highly refined Texas establishment - so I've been told!!!!
A person/couple/friends could do a little shopping at the downtown shops, have a nice dinner at one of the restaurants - then pop in Billy Bob's for a beverage of choice, dancing, people watch(to observe the latest fashions) or whatever tickles ones fancy. Could even join in one of the fights, if so desired. This would also provide "outdoor entertainment", as the fights spill out onto the sidewalk.
Of course it wouldn't be "family oriented" since kids wouldn't be allowed inside, but hey, they could always enjoy the "outdoor entertainment".
