Looking east from Interstate 680 near the Bernal Avenue exit, you can see the former hay fields beginning to take a new shape. While the land is brown now, it will soon be home to another green Pleasanton community park. The first phase of a three-phase project to create Bernal Community Park began in late February and is starting to show.

It sure is good to see progress on the Bernal Park. Kudos to everyone involved in the process to design Pleasanton's "crown jewel." This is a park our children and grandchildren will be enjoying for years to come. We are so lucky to live in Pleasanton.

My husband and my employer are both involved on this project. the planning and design of this park will be awesome for the city of pleasanton. The backstops for the baseball and softball field are the largest i've ever seen in the local area, this will absolutely make a statement that pleasanton is committed to building the biggest and baddest parks & fields for its community. WoooHooo!
Other items included were walking trails, marsh conservation and other park amenities.
ps i did not see in the overall plans anything for a skatepark

I would love to get involved in adding a skatepark to the design of this park. The Tri-Valley area could really use a good skate park. If you go to any of the 3 skateparks in the area on any average weekend day it is always crowded. If you go to your average soccer/baseball field they are only used during a league game and then they are empty half of the year. If you are involved with this park please if you could e-mail the correct people at the city to contact that would be great (mkuntz at sbcglobal.net)
