The article is misleading, although unintentionally. The accident was not on the long isolated stretch between Livermore and Brentwood. It was in town on the Livermore side. The typical Vasco fatality is related to drivers running into head-on traffic while trying desperately to pass somebody.

In the area of this accident, Vasco is completely straight, has four lanes and has a center median as indicated. Yes, this stretch of Vasco was closed for three hours, but since it was in-town, a short detour was set up in Livermore city streets.

I'm quite sorry the poor gentleman died, but his accident has nothing to do with "that dangerous Vasco Road". If he had done the same thing on any other four-lane road in any town, the same thing could have likely happened.

The last thing we need is to raise up a cry of "doing something" about Vasco. Those of us who have to drive it every day can verify that there is PLENTY of law enforcement on that stretch of road.
