VEHICLE THEFTS..BEWARE BLACK BMW SUV SCOUTING YOUR PROPERTY

Original post made by jody on Jan 5, 2011

Vehicle thefts are becoming larger in Pleasanton. These young people are stealing your car, everything in your car and your WHEELS and your Catalytic Converters!!

there is a suspect.. a Black BMW Suv that has been seen scouting apartment complexes. Beware and keep your eyes open and your hand on your 911 button on your cell phone.

These kids need to be stopped..... the rumor... most of the thefts are being done by local white kids who are not short of funds, just short of thrills and drugs....!

this community needs to get off their arse and protect eachother's neighbors, stop being LAZY and become part of your neighborhood watch system!

foothill high has major drug problems right now, amador's pot smoking population is growing... village is actually doing real well and they are keeping a tight watch and control on their kids.... what is Foothill and Amador high schools doing to for their kids????!!! they ignore the problems and kick the kids out to other sources, shameful.

car thefts, drug problems, next?????!

If prop 19 had passed, we would be able to regulate drugs by knowing who selles them, taxing them, and putting a required age (like cigarettes and alcohol) for who can buy. It would have been a good idea to pass that proposition. Alcohol consumption was worse during prohibition. Maybe the drug problem would lessen if we actually regulate and tax pot.

As far as the high schools: the drug problem has existed always, even back many years ago when I was in high school. It is always there, regardless of socioeconomic status, although you tend to see it more in the affluent environments.

PUSD should have a no tolerance policy. I know in my child's middle school, some kids were caught using drugs and I heard they did not get suspended! I was schocked that the consequence of being caught with drugs at school were not more severe. If the problem is really that severe at Foothill, and people know about it, why isn't the administration doing something about it? Suspension, transfer to Village come to mind as possible "punishment" for kids doing drugs.

And where are the parents? I see too many kids hanging out unsupervised after school. I am glad my kids have afterschool activities and cannot go with the crowd after school.

I live in a complex near birdland and I've seen that SUV in our apartment parking lot driving real slow.... could this be the same one? I thought they were lost, I was going to offer to help, but it was two young men and they made me nervous.

If they are stealing my car, how would I know if they steal my WHEELS and catalytic converter? If they steal my car, wouldn't they also be stealing everything in my car by default?

I can't find the 911 button on my cell phone. Would you please post a picture to show me how to find this button?

Won't my hand start to cramp up if I keep my finger on the button? Can I take it off the button when I go the bathroom or take a shower. I don't know if my phone is water proof.

First, one of the best uses of this forum is to inform the Pleasanton public on criminal activity. The description of suspicious people is always a good thing. Although, by extending the problem to such a broad scope seems a little suspicious in and of itself. With that being said let's keep our eyes open for crime.

the post is good, sarcastic remarks are from people who dont care.

the police know what's going on. usually. a little lazy on follow up

the community doesn't respond well to helping eachother.

the theives are pampered highschool brats.

duh!

Of all of those who have seen this BLACK BMW SUV. Did anyone think of writing down the license plate number and reporting it to Pleasanton Police?

Foothill and Amador actually do a lot to try and address the drug problem. Maybe the parents of those kids should step up and handle it since IT IS THE PARENT'S PROBLEM, NOT THE SCHOOLS?!?!!!?! OBVIOUSLY!

Something needs to be done-

What you are failing to realize (due to the libral media) is most kids are not using "illegal" drugs...they are using legally prescribed drugs. prop 19 will do nothing to curb the use or regulation of the Oxycodone and the like. Learn all the facts and go on a police Ride Along sometime...its free.
