Fireworks dazzle hundreds as Alameda County Fair opens

A gala Main Street parade will start at 11 a.m. today to officially open the 2008 Alameda County Fair, where earlybirds at Friday night's actual opening saw a spectacular 20-minute fireworks show at the racetrack.

If the fireworks for the fair opening were held on Friday evening, what was the big show of fireworks on Saturday evening? Were these also at the fairgrounds, for the fair, or were they somewhere else for another occasion?

I also heard, then saw the fireworks on Saturday evening, coming out of the movies over at Hacienda. Quite a booming show - what were they??

Camp Parks has a fireworks show every year for the military and thier families

We went to the Fair over the weekend and saw the SF Bay Bombers skate.

What a great time we had and boy did it bring back memories of when we used to watch them on TV as kids.
