Does anyone have an update on the skating rink?

My family is considering relocating to the Pleasanton area and my two boys are HUGE hockey nuts. I have read about plans to build an arena at Staples Ranch but I can't seem to find the current status of the project.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

It's known as the Staples Ranch development. The Environmental Impact Report passed the planning commission in May (Web Link), and now has to be voted on by the city council. That was supposed to happen in June but is now slated for Aug. 24 (Web Link).
